South East Basketball Academy
Building skills, character, and leaders on and off the court
Who are SEBA?
The South East Basketball Academy (SEBA) is a premier basketball development program serving the south-eastern region of Melbourne, Victoria. Built on a strong foundation of skill development, character education, and a genuine passion for the game, SEBA provides young athletes with an environment where they can learn, grow, and thrive both on and off the court.
At the heart of the Academy is a commitment to teaching the fundamentals of basketball. Every program is designed to develop strong technical skills, sound decision-making, basketball IQ, and a deep understanding of the game. From beginners taking their first steps in basketball to aspiring elite athletes, SEBA focuses on building complete players through quality coaching, purposeful training, and a culture of continuous improvement.
What sets the Academy apart is its commitment to providing opportunities that extend beyond traditional basketball development. Through international learning experiences and basketball expeditions, athletes are exposed to different playing styles, cultures, coaching philosophies, and educational opportunities around the world. These experiences help develop independence, resilience, leadership, and a broader understanding of the global basketball community.
SEBA believes that basketball is more than a sport—it is a vehicle for personal growth. The Academy's philosophy centres on developing confident, respectful, and resilient young people who embrace challenges, value teamwork, and strive for excellence in all areas of life.
With a focus on fundamentals, international learning, and holistic athlete development, the South East Basketball Academy is helping shape the next generation of players, leaders, and lifelong learners throughout Melbourne's south-east.
The game is played in the head, not the hands.

Joining SEBA under coach Rosemary's guidance has transformed my approach to basketball and life. Her coaching sharpened my skills, and the international tours broadened my perspective. I’m more confident and focused both on and off the court.
